Instagram has rolled out another round of updates to its Edits app, continuing its push to offer creators an alternative to tools like CapCut.
The latest release introduces several new features aimed at improving both creativity and workflow.

Among the additions are new transition effects, including “Zoom Ripple” and “Vertical Stretch,” bringing the total number of transitions available to 35.
These effects can be quickly applied between cuts, making it easier to enhance the visual flow of videos.
The update also improves editing accuracy, with more responsive track handles that allow for finer control when trimming clips.
Another useful change is the ability to apply volume adjustments across all clips in a project at once, helping users keep audio levels consistent without manual tweaking.
While Edits is currently free to use, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has noted that some of the advanced AI features in development may eventually require a subscription, due to the cost of running those tools.
Still, with regular updates and a growing feature set, Edits is steadily becoming a go-to app for creators looking for flexibility and creative control.
