In a move that could reshape the advertising industry, Meta is reportedly aiming to enable fully automated ad campaigns by 2026, allowing businesses to launch ads with just a URL and a goal.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Meta’s advanced AI systems will soon be capable of handling the entire ad creation process. That includes generating images, videos, copy, audience targeting, and even budget optimization—without any human input.

“A brand could present a product image and a budgetary goal, and AI would create the entire ad, then decide whom to target,” sources told WSJ.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the direction in a recent interview, stating the company is working toward a system where advertisers need no creative assets, targeting knowledge, or manual tracking—just a business objective and a connected account.

While Meta has teased this shift since 2023, this is the first time a clear rollout timeline has been attached. The company’s AI-powered Advantage+ campaigns already outperform many human-generated ads, signaling the model’s viability.

While this could drastically streamline ad creation, it raises concerns about job displacement and industry dependence on Meta’s proprietary systems.
